Anneke Hansen, a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, draws on her background as a professional dancer and choreographer and former competitive figure skater to create unique training programs that allow her clients to experience a more pleasurable and dynamic range of movements and activities in all aspects of their lives. Specialties include muscle balancing/scoliosis, flexibility training, injury prevention and recovery, and core training. An ACE certified personal trainer, she has taught people of all backgrounds in varied contexts nationally and internationally, from professional dancers to those who are new to movement training of any kind. She has also taught experiential anatomy at the college level and to professional movement practitioners. Anneke has studied extensively with and serves as assistant to Irene Dowd, neuromuscular trainer and anatomist. In addition to her teaching, Anneke choreographs for and performs with her company Anneke Hansen Dance in NYC, nationally, and internationally. Anneke’s lifelong commitment to ongoing movement exploration has lead her to study various forms of dance, martial arts, yoga, skating, and Pilates.
