Pamela Warshay

Pamela Warshay began teaching in 1994 and founded Sage Fitness® in 1998. She has dedicated her New York City facility to quality Pilates and Gyrotonic movement education programs. She has recently introduced her wrist therapy program for new mothers with De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis (Baby Wrist). 

Pamela’s teaching style is that of diversity and practicality. From helping clients with chronic illness, such as Parkinson’s Disease and Cerebral Palsy to musculo-skeletal injuries including spinal disc bulges, ACL tears, hip replacements (pre and post operative conditioning) and frozen shoulder syndrome, her varied and vast experience in many movement modalities allows for a complete and truly individualized session with an emphasis on healing and balancing. Her teaching sensibility appeals to clients looking to bridge the gap between rehabilitative and mind-body movement as well as taking the work into a sport specific focus.

Pamela currently teaches Gyrotonic Applications for Golfers. This innovative format, taught to her by the course co-creator David Rasmussen (PGA Tour Instructor and Gyrotonic instructor), has multiple exercises for every part of the golf swing. Additionally, Pamela is certified directly under Katherine Roberts to teach Yoga for Golfers™. This yoga format address specific swing faults, strengths and aligns the body, while improving mental focus.

Pamela holds certifications in Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis as well as course completition for:  Gyrotonic Applications for Golf , Gyrotonic Therapeutic Applications Workshop and Gyrotonic & Osteopathy Applications.

Pamela was certified in Pilates directly under Ramona Kryzanowska and later was a student at Deborah Lessen’s Greene Street Studio. Additioanlly, she has studied anatomy and various movement coursework with Irene Dowd.

 She received certifications in Yamuna Zake’s Body Rolling® and in Jim & Phil Wharton’s Active-Isolated (AI) Flexibility Training.

A former dancer and native New Yorker, she graduated from Florida State University with a BFA in Dance, attended the University of Michigan and is a graduate of the Fiorello H. LaGuardia H.S. of the Performing Arts.
